Calderón Theatre which belongs to the National Network of Theaters, is one of the most prestigious cultural spaces in Castilla and León and one of the best theaters in Spain.
It opened its doors in September 1864 with the performance of Calderón de la Barca 'El Alcalde de Zalamea'. Planned by the architect Jerónimo de la Gándara - the same one who designed Lope de Vega Theatre–,Calderón theatre presents a neoclassical design.
