LAVA (Valladolid Arts Laboratory)
The Valladolid Arts Laboratory (LAVA) is a complex for cultural production and artistic research, open to professional projects related to the performing, plastic and audiovisual arts, music, fashion, literature, photography, architecture or design. Its purpose is to support the artistic creation of Valladolid and enable artistic experiences from other parts of the world through the exchange and dialogue generated in production processes, training and development of the different aesthetic discourses .
Located in the former municipal slaughterhouse on the Paseo de Zorrilla, LAVA integrates the following spaces:
LAVA/ Theatre - Sala Concha Velasco. Multipurpose auditorium with capacity for 610 seats in retractable stands, exhibition hall, cafeteria-restaurant and rehearsal rooms; 3000 square metres.
LAVA/ Laboratory - Sala Negra, Sala Blanca and Sala 221, with a total area of 1700 square meters.
Both buildings are the work of the architects firm J.I. Linazasoro, J.Grijalba, A.Grijalba, P.Gil, and E.Carazo.
LAVA management is assumed by the Valladolid Municipal Culture Foundation.
Ticket office opening times: Tuesday to Saturday, from 12 to 2 p.m. and from 6 to 8:30 p.m (or until the show begins).
Sundays and public holidays: Regular time and from 2 hours before the performance .
