Lugares - parques, jardines y plazas - Plaza del Milenio

Millennium Square

This is a singular initiative which has transformed the area of Usos Múltiples (at 6 Antonio Lorenzo Hurtado Street) and the surrounding area into an area of enjoyment for the general public which is very close to the city centre. It is a new area for leisure and relaxation of over 7,500 m2. The intention is also to make the river part of this experience. There is a short stay car park with 402 spaces, new cycle lanes and a multifunctional building called “The Millennium Dome”. This building caters for all kinds of shows, cultural and sporting activities, exhibitions and other events. Millennium Square is composed of several sectors or zones. There is one for children, one for jets of water, fountains and ponds and yet another for green areas and jetties. “The Millennium Dome” which gives its name to the square was originally the Pavilion of Thirst at the Water Expo in Zaragoza.
