Lugares - parques, jardines y plazas - San Pablo

Saint Paul Square

San Pablo (Saint Paul) Square in Valladolid is surrounded by what were called “Royal places” in past centuries. This means that from an artistic point of view, this is one of the most outstanding areas of the city: The Royal Palace, the Pimentel Palace and above all, the magnificent stone altarpiece on San Pablo’s Convent Church. The building which was formerly a Dominican nunnery is now the Zorrilla Secondary School, opposite a monument dedicated to King Philip II, who was originally from Valladolid. He was born in the Pimentel Palace on 21st May 1527. It is a nice, grand and wide area with benches and trees. One of the latter stands out for its size and leafiness; it is the oldest tree in the city, which makes it one of the most historical trees in Castilla and León
